Maxorb® CMC/Alginate Dressing
Item #: 2107CSMDM
12" rope
20/case
Maxorb's non-woven alginate and carbomethylcellulose (CMC) fiber combination reacts with wound exudate to form a gel, providing for a moist healing environment. The added presence of CMC in Maxorb improves the wicking and fluid-handling ability of this dressing, as well as adding improved wet strength. The pad will not wick exudate laterally, reducing the potential for delicate peri-wound tissue damage. And the gelatinous pad may be easily lifted one piece from the wound bed, making dressing changes easier. Dressings are supplied sterile in single pouches or lidded tray. The lidded tray package on the rope version is important because it keeps the fibers from compressing. As a result, fluid handling capacity is increased. Dressing change is indicated by strike-through to secondary dressing or every 2-4 days or as directed by a health care professional.
